Description
The Danfoss 030F8150 is an oil nozzle with a flow rate of 5.5 GPH, a spray angle of 80 ° and an S spray pattern. It is fitted in an oil burner to atomise the fuel into a spray that mixes with combustion air. The 5.5 GPH rating defines the volume of oil passed per hour at the nozzle's rated pressure. Choosing and fitting
Nozzles of this type are selected by matching the flow rate, spray angle and spray pattern to the burner's requirements, and by matching the thread and body form to the nozzle holder. Mounting forms differ in thread size and in the length and shape of the body, so the seat in the holder must be compared before ordering. The rated pressure at which the flow rate is quoted must also match the pump setting used on the equipment.
Signs of failure
Nozzles of this kind commonly fail by clogging of the internal passages or by wear of the orifice, which changes the flow rate and the spray shape. On the equipment this shows as poor combustion, smoke, soot deposits, an unstable flame or difficulty in ignition. Checking the spray pattern, the flow rate against the rated value and the condition of the strainer helps to identify a nozzle that needs replacement.
