Description

This is a Danfoss oil nozzle with a flow rate of 11 GPH, a 45° spray angle and a B spray pattern. It is used to atomise fuel oil in a burner, producing the spray that is mixed with air and ignited. The 45° angle defines the cone of the spray, and the B pattern defines its shape. The nozzle is identified by the SKU 030B0087.

Choosing and fitting

Nozzles of this type are selected by matching the flow rate, spray angle and spray pattern to the burner and combustion chamber, and by matching the thread and mounting form to the nozzle holder. The seat and the mating face must be clean and undamaged, and the nozzle must be tightened to the torque specified for the holder. Before ordering, compare the markings on the old nozzle with the required values.

Signs of failure

Nozzles of this kind commonly fail by clogging, wear of the orifice, or a distorted spray pattern. The equipment may then show a weak or uneven flame, delayed ignition, soot deposits, or a rise in flue gas readings. Check the spray pattern, the flow rate and the condition of the nozzle seat, and replace the nozzle if the pattern is deformed or the flow is reduced.
