Description

This is a Danfoss oil nozzle with a flow rate of 1.65 GPH, a 60 ° spray angle and an H spray pattern. It is a replacement part for oil-fired burners and boilers, where it atomises the fuel into a fine spray for combustion. The 60 ° angle defines the width of the cone the spray forms, and the H pattern denotes the shape of that spray. The SKU for this item is 030H6929.

Choosing and fitting

Nozzles of this type are selected by matching the flow rate, spray angle and spray pattern to the burner's requirements, and by matching the thread and mounting form to the nozzle holder. The flow rate is given in GPH and the angle in degrees, and both must correspond to the values specified for the equipment. Before ordering, compare the marking on the old nozzle with the required specification and check that the seat and thread are undamaged.

Signs of failure

Nozzles of this kind can clog, wear at the orifice or develop a distorted spray pattern over time. When this happens the burner may produce a poor flame, smoke, soot or an unstable ignition, and the combustion readings can drift from their set values. Checking the nozzle involves comparing its flow rate, angle and pattern with the specification and inspecting the spray, and a clogged or worn nozzle is replaced rather than cleaned.
