Description

This is a Danfoss oil nozzle with a rated flow rate of 22 GPH, a spray angle of 80 °, and a spray pattern of B. It is used in oil burners to atomise fuel into a fine spray so that it can mix with air and burn efficiently. The 80 ° angle defines the width of the spray cone, while the B pattern denotes the shape of the spray distribution. The nozzle is identified by the SKU 030B0249.

Choosing and fitting

Nozzles of this type are selected by matching the flow rate, spray angle, and spray pattern to the burner manufacturer's specification. The mounting form must also match: most oil nozzles use a standard threaded body, but the thread size and the length of the nozzle body can vary between burner models. Before ordering, compare the old nozzle's markings and its physical dimensions with the replacement, and check that the electrode position and the nozzle seating in the burner are correct.

Signs of failure

Nozzles of this kind commonly fail by clogging, wear of the orifice, or a distorted spray pattern. When this happens, the burner may produce a smoky flame, fail to ignite, pulsate, or show a rise in exhaust temperature and soot deposits. Check the nozzle for blockage, damage to the tip, and any change in the spray shape, and compare the combustion readings with the burner's normal values.
