Description

The Danfoss 030F4929 is an oil nozzle for pressure-jet oil burners. It has a flow rate of 1.65 GPH, a spray angle of 45 °, and an S spray pattern. The nozzle atomises fuel oil into a cone-shaped spray that mixes with combustion air at the burner head. The 45 ° angle and S pattern determine the shape and density of that spray. It is a replacement part in the Danfoss oil nozzle range.

Choosing and fitting

Oil nozzles of this type are selected by matching the flow rate, spray angle, and spray pattern to the burner and combustion chamber, and by matching the thread and body dimensions to the nozzle holder. Mounting forms differ mainly in thread size and body length, so the old nozzle and the holder should be compared before ordering. The flow rate marked on the nozzle must correspond to the burner's required input, and the spray angle and pattern must suit the chamber geometry and air flow. The nozzle seat and the holder must be clean and undamaged so the new nozzle seals correctly.

Signs of failure

Oil nozzles of this kind commonly fail by clogging of the internal passages or the orifice, by wear of the orifice that increases flow, or by leakage at the seat. The equipment may then show a poor or unstable flame, delayed ignition, soot deposits, or a rise in flue gas temperature. A blocked nozzle can also cause the burner to lock out on flame failure. Checking the nozzle strainer, the spray pattern, and the combustion readings helps identify a worn or blocked nozzle.
