Description

This is a Danfoss oil nozzle with a flow rate of 1 GPH, a 60° spray angle, and an H spray pattern. It is used in oil burners to atomise fuel into a fine spray for combustion. The 60° angle defines the width of the cone formed by the spray. The H pattern denotes a hollow cone, in which the fuel is concentrated at the outer edge of the cone. The nozzle is identified by SKU 030H6920.

Choosing and fitting

Nozzles of this type are selected by matching the flow rate, spray angle, and spray pattern to the burner manufacturer's specification. The mounting thread and the sealing face must match the nozzle holder, and the nozzle must seat correctly without cross-threading. Before ordering, compare the markings on the old nozzle with the required values, and check that the electrode position and the nozzle holder are undamaged.

Signs of failure

Nozzles of this kind can clog, wear at the orifice, or develop a distorted spray pattern over time. When this happens, the burner may produce a smoky flame, fail to ignite, pulsate, or run with an unstable flame. Check the nozzle for blockage, wear, and leakage at the seat, and compare the spray pattern with the specified angle and pattern.
