Description

This is a Danfoss oil nozzle with a flow rate of 22 GPH, a 45° spray angle, and a B spray pattern. It is used in oil burners to atomise fuel oil into a fine spray for combustion. The 45° angle determines the shape of the flame relative to the nozzle axis, while the B pattern denotes a solid or semi-solid spray cone. The nozzle is identified by SKU 030B0096.

Choosing and fitting

Nozzles of this type are selected by matching the flow rate, spray angle, and spray pattern to the burner manufacturer's specification. The mounting thread and nozzle body dimensions must also match the nozzle holder. Before ordering, compare the existing nozzle's markings and measure the thread and overall length. Installation requires the correct wrench size and careful tightening to avoid damaging the nozzle seat.

Signs of failure

Nozzles of this kind can clog, wear at the orifice, or develop a distorted spray pattern. When this happens, the burner may produce a smoky flame, fail to ignite, or run erratically. Check for carbon deposits on the nozzle tip, fuel leakage at the seat, and a spray pattern that is uneven or off-axis. A nozzle that has been in service for a long period should be replaced if these signs appear.
