Description

This is a Danfoss oil nozzle with a flow rate of 1.35 GPH, a 45° spray angle, and a B spray pattern. It is used to atomise fuel oil into a fine spray for combustion in an oil burner. The nozzle is identified by the SKU 030B0060. The 45° angle and B pattern determine the shape and spread of the oil spray as it leaves the nozzle.

Choosing and fitting

Nozzles of this type are selected by matching the flow rate, spray angle, and spray pattern to the burner manufacturer's specification. The mounting thread and nozzle body dimensions must also match the nozzle holder on the burner. Before ordering, compare the existing nozzle's markings and physical size with the replacement. The spray pattern letter and angle must correspond to the combustion head and air settings.

Signs of failure

Nozzles of this kind can become clogged with fuel deposits or wear at the orifice, causing a distorted or weak spray. The burner may then produce a smoky flame, fail to ignite, or run with an unstable flame. A common check is to inspect the nozzle for blockage or wear and compare the spray pattern with the specified angle and pattern.
