Specifications

Description

This is a Danfoss oil nozzle with a flow rate of 0.3 GPH, a spray angle of 80°, and an S spray pattern. It is used in oil burners to atomise fuel into a fine spray for combustion. The 0.3 GPH rating defines the volume of oil delivered per hour at the rated pressure. The 80° spray angle and S pattern determine the shape and distribution of the oil mist inside the combustion chamber.

Choosing and fitting

Nozzles of this type are selected by matching the flow rate, spray angle, and spray pattern to the burner manufacturer's specification. The mounting form must also match: check the thread size, the nozzle body length, and the sealing face against the old part or the burner's nozzle adapter. Before ordering, compare the markings on the existing nozzle and confirm the pump pressure at which the rated flow is achieved.

Signs of failure

Nozzles of this kind commonly fail by clogging, wear of the orifice, or a distorted spray pattern. When this happens, the burner may produce a smoky flame, fail to ignite, pulsate, or leave soot deposits on the combustion head and electrodes. Check the nozzle for blockage, damage to the orifice, and any deviation from the specified spray shape, and replace it if the pattern is uneven or the flow is reduced.
