Description

The Danfoss 030B0064 is an oil nozzle with a flow rate of 2.25 GPH, a 45 ° spray angle and a B spray pattern. Choosing and fitting

Nozzles of this type are selected by matching the flow rate, spray angle and spray pattern to the burner and combustion chamber, and by matching the thread and body form to the nozzle holder. Mounting forms differ in thread size, body length and the position of the locating shoulder, so the old nozzle is compared against the replacement before ordering. The rated pressure of the pump circuit must correspond to the pressure at which the required flow rate is obtained. The nozzle seat and the holder are checked for damage and cleanliness before the new part is tightened into place.

Signs of failure

Nozzles of this type commonly fail through blockage of the internal passages or the orifice by fuel deposits and debris, and through wear of the orifice and swirl chamber that increases flow over time. On the equipment this appears as an unstable or smoky flame, delayed ignition, a change in the shape of the spray, or soot formation on the combustion head and heat exchanger. A nozzle that no longer atomises correctly can also cause pulsating combustion or repeated lockouts. The spray pattern, the flow rate and the condition of the nozzle strainer are checked, and the pump pressure is verified before the nozzle is replaced.
