Description

This item is a Danfoss oil nozzle with a flow rate of 1.35 GPH, a spray angle of 80 °, and a B spray pattern. It is used to atomise fuel oil into a fine spray so the burner can mix it with air and burn it. The 80 ° angle defines how wide the cone of oil is spread from the nozzle outlet. The B pattern denotes the distribution of fuel within that cone. The SKU for this nozzle is 030B0210.

Choosing and fitting

Nozzles of this type are selected by matching the flow rate, spray angle, and spray pattern to the burner's requirements, and by confirming the thread and body dimensions fit the nozzle holder. Mounting forms differ mainly in thread size and body length, so the old nozzle should be unscrewed and compared before ordering. The flow rate marked on the nozzle must match the burner setting, and the spray angle and pattern must suit the combustion chamber shape. The nozzle seat and the holder must be clean and undamaged so the new nozzle seals correctly.

Signs of failure

Nozzles of this kind commonly fail by clogging, wear of the orifice, or a damaged seat, which shows as a distorted or uneven flame, delayed ignition, soot deposits, or a rise in flue gas temperature. The equipment may also lock out if the flame sensor does not see a stable flame. When these signs appear, the nozzle should be removed and checked for blockage or wear, and the fuel pressure and filter should be verified before replacement.
