Description

Choosing and fitting

Mounting forms differ between nozzle families, so the seat, thread and overall length must be compared with the old part before ordering. The rated pressure at which the flow rate is quoted must also correspond to the pump setting of the installation.

Signs of failure

Nozzles of this kind fail mainly by clogging of the internal passages and filter, by wear of the orifice, or by leakage at the seat. The equipment then shows a poor or unstable flame, delayed ignition, sooting, or a rise in flue gas readings, and in worse cases it fails to light at all. Checks are made on the spray pattern, the flow rate against the rated figure, and the condition of the nozzle seat and filter.
