Description
This is a Danfoss oil nozzle with a flow rate of 15 GPH, a 60° spray angle and a B spray pattern. It is used to atomise fuel oil into a fine spray so the burner can mix it with air and burn it. The 60° angle sets how wide the cone of oil is spread, and the B pattern defines the shape of that spray. The nozzle is identified by SKU 030B0143.

Choosing and fitting
Nozzles of this type are selected by matching the flow rate, spray angle and spray pattern to the burner and combustion chamber, and by matching the thread and mounting form to the nozzle holder. Before ordering, compare the markings on the old nozzle and check the seat and thread in the holder for damage. The nozzle must sit squarely and seal on its seat, and the electrode position and blast tube must be set as specified for the burner.
Signs of failure
Nozzles of this kind usually fail by clogging, wear of the orifice or a damaged seat, which shows as a weak, distorted or pulsating flame, delayed ignition, soot, smoke or a rise in flue gas temperature. A blocked or worn nozzle can also cause the burner to lock out or run erratically. Check the flame shape, the nozzle strainer and the electrode settings, and replace the nozzle if the spray pattern or flow is visibly wrong.
