Specifications

Description

This is a Danfoss oil nozzle with a flow rate of 1.35 GPH, a 60° spray angle, and a B spray pattern. It is used in oil burners to atomise fuel oil into a fine spray for combustion. The 60° angle defines the cone width of the spray, while the B pattern describes the distribution of fuel within that cone. The 1.35 GPH rating specifies the volume of oil the nozzle passes per hour at the reference pressure. It is identified by the SKU 030B0110.

Choosing and fitting

Nozzles of this type are selected by matching the flow rate, spray angle, and spray pattern to the burner manufacturer's specification. The mounting form must also match: the nozzle body shape, thread, and sealing face must suit the nozzle holder. Before ordering, compare the markings on the old nozzle with the required values and check that the holder accepts the same body type. The pump pressure stated for the appliance must correspond to the pressure at which the flow rate is rated.

Signs of failure

Nozzles of this kind commonly fail by clogging, wear of the orifice, or a distorted spray pattern. When this happens, the burner may produce a poor flame, smoke, soot, or fail to ignite, and combustion may become unstable. Check for blockage, visible wear, and a symmetrical spray cone, and compare the nozzle markings with the required specification before replacing it.
